Back to School

Tomorrow e returns to school after a two week vacation.

For the past couple of days, I’ve been saying, I know you are excited to go back to school, but remember when you are there to make good choices!  Today he replied, in a perfect imitation of me: yes, I’m going to stop and say, hmm, is this a good choice?

He also napped until 5:30 and is getting to bed late.  Ugh, I hope he is not too exhausted tomorrow.

Speaking of which…the “I hope” part, not the “too exhausted” part, I suppose my new year’s resolution for 2009 will be to be less neurotic about my child.

I have now surveyed several parents about the progress report, and all agree that I should continue to positively reinforce everything behavior-related (making good choices), but that any other work at home should be minimal, and not like homework.  E continues to work on his letters now that we’ve started it, but it’s only been when he wants to.

Well, lunches are packed, e is asleep and tomorrow it’s back to school.
